Timeshare Jobs
Working in the timeshare industry can be a very rewarding alternative to a career within the traditional hospitality industry. There are a variety of timeshare jobs available, including all those offered at traditional hotels and resorts like positions in management, administration, customer service and house housekeeping.
But what sets the timeshare industry apart – and what
makes it a great place to start a career – is the breadth
of opportunity available and the array of unique positions
for someone searching for a meaningful or fun career.
Here are just a few of the unique jobs you might find
working for a timeshare resort, timeshare company or timeshare
management company.
Jobs in the Timeshare Industry
° Timeshare Sales Positions – Probably the most traditional job in this list, timeshare sales representatives work for individual resorts and provide tours and sales presentations to prospective buyers. Individuals with sales experience can also work for timeshare resale companies as well (these companies help current owners sell their vacation properties by providing online advertising or other services).
° Timeshare Broker – As a timeshare broker, you can assist vacation owners in selling their timeshare properties, or assist buyers in finding a timeshare that suits you needs and budget. Similar to a real estate broker, you can take listings and collect a commission on the sale. A real estate license is required.
° Personal Concierge – Many high-end timeshare resorts now offer full-service concierge to owners and guests. As a personal concierge you will need patience and a specialized skill set to perform the kind of dedicated, 24-hour service that clients expect. In this position you may find yourself planning activities and making reservations for an owner's vacations, setting up their timeshare suite before their arrival or stocking their fridge with their child's favorite snacks. As owners are return visitors, you will work with clients annually. In this position you will need the wherewithal to remember details of your client's lives and preferences.
° Disney Cast Members – One of the most well known timeshare
brands is Disney Vacation Club (employees are called Disney
Cast Members). While all the traditional jobs are available
at the Disney Resorts, what better way to ensure a fun
job than to don a Mickey Mouse costume and bring joy to
a child's stay?
Another benefit of working within the timeshare industry
is that you can work (and live) almost anywhere in the
world. There are more than 5,000 timeshare
resorts worldwide so if you are looking for a change of
scenery and have experience in the hospitality industry
and would like to work in the timeshare industry, the
only question is: where do you want to live? Maybe your
idea of paradise is a resort within a bustling metropolis?
Or maybe you'd like the quiet comfort of waking up every
day in a seaside Maine town? Whatever type of environment
you'd like to live in, chances are there's a resort not
too far away.
The timeshare industry is experiencing unprecedented growth and increasingly higher standards. If you are interested in a timeshare job, now is the time to begin your search!
